Welcome to Sustainability Boss Lady, a blog about zero-waste living, entrepreneurship, and triple bottom line sustainability.
My name is Marina McCoy and I am a Zero-Waste and Recycling Expert known as, Sustainability Boss Lady. I am also the Founder and CEO of Waste Free Earth, where we build custom sustainable strategies to lower the environmental impact and reduce overall waste consumption for hundreds of thousands of event guests and their hosts each year.
A little more about me?
Well, I have been practicing the zero-waste lifestyle for the past 6 years. You know... the type of person that collects all their plastic waste in a mason jar for a year, as seen in the picture to the right. Yup, that's me! It's safe to say I am fascinated about waste streams and passionate about reducing overall waste consumption. I find great joy in educating individuals on how they can adopt low-waste lifestyles without inconveniencing their daily activities or their bank accounts. You will most likely find me with my bag of reusables or picking out contaminants in a compost or recycling bin, either way, it probably involves waste.
I'll get more into my 'journey' a little later in a different post but I wanted to let you know what this blog will be about.
And what's that you ask?
Well, I am going to be showing the ups and downs of living a zero-waste lifestyle and how you can take part in the journey through informative, how-to blog posts. Every first and third Wednesday of the month, I will be creating a new blog post for you that will hopefully inspire you to change your daily habits - just a little, or at least think about it.
What Would Marina Do Wednesday, of course!
From working events all throughout the United States, my coworkers would constantly say this saying when posed with a sustainability-related issue, 'What Would Marina Do?' Long and behold, it got very popular at events, within my local community, friends and family, and even my co-working space. Every Wednesday I dedicate my Instagram to 'What Would Marina Do Wednesday,' so be sure to follow if you are on Instagram. If not, the blog posts and Instagram posts will certainly be crossing over.
When is the first What Would Marina Do Wednesday?
Mark your calendars: Wednesday, March 18th, 2020
Be sure to sign up for my bi-weekly email, at the end of this page, to be one of the first to receive it.
Thanks for checking in and wanting to be apart of the zero-waste movement!
To sustainability and beyond!
